20th CENTURY ASIAN PEARS
Also called Nijisseiki, a light-textured, juicy, sweet-tart fruit with a hint of citrus. Green on yellow skin, round shaped. David Karp's favorite. Tends to run smaller than other varieties. Children love this fruit. Season: August to September. Size: 20 to 40 per metric layer. Suggested uses: Fresh eating, salads, great with sashimi, cheese platters, grilled. Shelf life: Will keep at 32 degrees for 1 month. |
