HYAKUME (BROWN SUGAR) PERSIMMONS

Description: Golden skinned, rounded fruit. Sweet brown sugar flesh,
very juicy and full bodied. Rare. Pollination-variant non-astringent variety persimmon can be eaten firm or soft.

Season: Late October, November, early December

Size: 20 to 32 per metric layer

Suggested uses: Fresh eating, grilled, salads.

Shelf life: Store at 32 F, separated from ethylene-producing fruits, to keep firm for several weeks. Do not store between 36 and 50 degrees. 7 to 10 days at cool room temperature, away from other fruit to prevent softening.
