Buy Crispin Apples: Please come see us at the Wednesday Santa Monica Farmers Market. Our stand is in front of Restaurant Lago, just below 3rd Street Promenade on Arizona avenue.

Description: Of Japanese origin, where it is highly prized. Initially called Mutsu, name changed to Crispin. Green skinned, large, juicy crisp apple, sweet-tart, rich flavor, great eating and baking apple.

Season: Late August, September.

Size: Field run.

Suggested uses: Fresh eating, baking, applesauce.

Shelf life: 3 weeks at 32 degrees.
