December 2024
This season's HoshiGaki has gone relatively smoothly. After two months, I am just finishing the last 500 fruits out of 3060 total. That's a lot to pick, peel hang and massage. Laurence expanded in the Santa Barbara Farmer's Market, working two days a week, Saturday and Tuesday evening, keeping me plenty busy picking and packing fruit this season. I continue to ship the fruit that will survive the mail as demand presents itself. A new orchard security system, a black standard poodle, joined me late spring. He came to me through Nor Cal Poodle Rescue, one of a liter of four. He followed me up the ladder on his first day. That was evidently enough work for him. He now makes it doubly difficult to concentrate on work with his busy play schedule.
