The king of the Japanese plums, very large, heart shaped, with tart mottled greenish purple skin and deep red flesh. Freestone. Firm, meaty yet juicy, richly flavored flesh has a wine-like complexity, slices well. Sometimes there is a pocket of sugar crystals near the tip.
