Bosc pears stand out with a long, curved stem and elongated neck that widens gradually to a full rounded base, creating a silhouette that is unique among pears. They have a warm cinnamon brown skin, sometimes with russeting. Their flavor is sweet with honeyed undertones. The flesh of Bosc is denser than that of other European pears. Bosc pears can be enjoyed while still a bit firm, or you can wait until they soften. However, keep in mind that Bosc will "give" less than other pears when they are ready.

Season: October, November, December

Suggested uses: Bosc pears are ideal for use in baking, broiling or poaching. They retain their shape and texture, and their flavor is less likely to be overwhelmed by the use of strong spices like cinnamon, clove or nutmeg. Of course, they are also excellent for fresh eating, particularly by those who prefer a firm texture.

What Our HoshiGaki Customers Are Saying

"There is nothing you could have done better! I seriously ordered these yesterday and they arrived today.

My uncle was a respected executive at the fruit sheds in Loomis and worked with many Japanese fruit growers. They respected and trusted him. I loved going to visit him when the white boxes of HoshiGaki had been gifted to him. The first time I ever tasted one I was so amazed as I had never tasted anything so amazing! I tasted one of the ones you sent and was sent back in time.

It is without a doubt the best I have ever tasted and I have sampled them from many places. Yours are unsurpassed.
So, thank you for your prompt delivery and the very best product."
